Smoked Trout Pate

Smoked trout; the ultimate party trick… with a twist! We’re elevating smoked trout to a whole new level with this unique pate recipe. Quick, simple, delicious. This elegant bite is sure to be a showstopper.



  • ½ cup cream cheese; at room temperature
  • 2 tbsp shallots; finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp chives; finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 ½ oz flaked smoked trout
  • 1 clove of garlic; crushed and finely chopped
  • Salt and pepper; to taste
  • Whole grain or whole wheat baguette; sliced
  • Olive Oil


  1. Preheat oven to 450
  2. Meanwhile lightly brush one side of the baguette with olive oil
  3. Arrange the baguettes onto a baking pan (olive oil side up) and place in the oven
  4. In a small bowl, beat the cream cheese, garlic, shallot, lemon juice, and chives until well combined.
  5. Add in the smoked trout and season with salt.
  6. Once the baguettes are a golden brown colour, remove from the oven.
  7. Serve the baguettes with the Smoked Trout Pate!
